Industry: Entertainment
Press Release Summary: Travis Ware, CEO of Silver*Ware Studios, Inc. has written the secrets to script writing in a book.
Press Release Body: In Travis’s book, Beyond the Pages, he teaches how to get pass the red tape of the script writing industry. “Rather if its film or television, there will be a time where you will have to pitch your script to an executive of some TV Network, Production Company, or Production Studio,” stated Travis Ware.
Beyond the Pages teaches you the difference between pitching to the head producer of that major production company or that executive of that major film studio; that’s so hard to get to. In this book, it states that you have a certain amount of time to impress the “powers that be.” It gives you tips and ideas on how to catch their attention and keeping it.
Being an executive himself, Ware tells what he looks for in a “pitch” for his films and television shows submissions. Travis is the CEO of both television and film departments of SWSI that receive scripts for production, distribution and/or for financing projects. He has to decide rather to take on a project or disregard it. He makes that decision through the pitch of the writer.
“If you’re not excited about your script, then why should I be?” quoted Travis in his book. Not only does Travis teach this in his book, but he also has a film column in an annual magazine called, Creative Minds Magazine. There he gives information about the film industry and the techniques to writing scripts.
Beyond the Pages also gives you inside information on what executives want to receive before the pitch and who to send it to. The book goes into detail of how to create the proper memorandum or production packet. It also includes information on how to attach star talent to the script in order to make the script more appetizing.
There are many books out there that tell you how to create a screenplay and maybe even make packages from a writer’s point of view. The book shows what the executives like and gives you little information from an inside source can push your script to that paycheck or inside the door of the executive’s office. Knowledge is power, but extra information is the key.
